Governance - Nigeria
Is seeking Freedom from Neglect and corruption Terrorism?
With Nigeria’s mentality, Igbo will not improve or progress naturally to say the least. It will not improve amongst people with prejudicial attitudes and mischievous discretions. That Nigerian government sent army to molest, insult, attack & kill armless people was inhumane enough to severe from Nigeria with deeds that have gone before, notwithstanding. Treatment to subdue by suppression and intimidation is uncalled for in the 21st century.
That Nigerian government denied common amenities (roads, water, electricity, transportation…) to the East is enough to seek for alternative solution.
The Arewa section of Nigeria has no right to serve quit notice to the Igbos in Arewa part of Nigeria. Their ‘quit notice’ is indeed a deep-seated hatred of the Igbos, which has been concealed since independence. It is one prong of evidence the Igbos have for quite some time to substantiate their claim of incompatibility with the rest of Nigeria. Such public denouncement of Igbo being orchestrated and passed even to the young and unborn to rehearse into creed and songs show the magnitude of their prejudice of Igbo - which leaves the Igbo with no option but to seek for its welfare elsewhere. Naturally, relationships improve after many years but relationships have not improved in Nigeria and it might be tempting to continue with unprovable herd. What is the cause of Igbo hatred? This becomes common investigation. The Igbos do not live on benefits of any sections of Nigeria. They work hard for their daily bread. If they had done any wrong, the government should publish it for knowledge, punishment or correction. If they are hatred for their industriousness; then, let us amend feeling or become uppity to waste.
That Nigeria is adamant on Nigerian style and way of life irrespective of its impact on Igbo is enough to induce autonomous capacity by anyone who does not like that style of life. The supposition that Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa can live anywhere in Nigeria and be accommodated by the so called indigenous locals is very far from reality – there are daily challenges of abuse and molestation making life unbearable – another reason for those seeking a re-construction of the current system.
For over 100 years of amalgamation, the relationship between the main three regions - Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa has been patchy and messy to say the least. It has not truly developed to true national trust, dependability and communal evolution. It is wasteful, discouraging and discomforting. What is wrong in separation of power from the centre to the regions that gave rise to amalgamation? All the regions now have oil and other mineral resources but like the UK (1997), it is not oil but good terms and conditions to protect, support and promote lives. How many people have died for oil? At least one must be alive and healthy to drink oil. Nigeria must look after lives first. It beggars the question - how do nations without oil mineral look after their people?
It has taken Nigeria many futile years to appreciate that Igbo is a part of Nigeria by proof. The West relies on the Nigerian investment from 1845-1991, when the capital moved to the North. The North in its military conjunctive rules did not only dominate but also moved the capital so that everything is in the North since 1991. What is in the East to delight the East as a part of Nigeria? How does Nigerian government wish the East to eat sand to belong?
The situation is intolerable and unacceptable into the 21st century life of self-awareness and effective population management. Every state gets budget allocation to supplement federal government presence. How does the federal government monitor and ensure budget effectiveness? Is Nigeria governed by prudent or prejudicial people? That Nigerian government opts for arm supplies to suppress its people than to negotiate solution means that it is living in the past ideologies. Is Nigerian government stupid to order Fighters and Bombers from America to suppress freedom and cannot order industries and factories to engage its population? No, it is a strategy to subdue and make people wet. Since the Greco-Roman failed religious tests with Zeus; Israel failed with Judaism; religion became the opiate of suppressive regimes. Yet, the best religion into the 21st Century is the terms & conditions people live together to support themselves and their nation. Thus, the earlier Nigerians make up their minds for what is right and just the better evolution will cater for everyone. Is it right to assume power without duties? God is alive and watching. A national terms and conditions to promote the goodwill of the governors and governed is good assurance for good living together mannerism.
Why does Nigeria believe in unity without good approach to it? Why does Nigeria believe in threats and unjust manner of approach? In a contract of marriage, either part can separate or divorce but what can make separation or divorce impossible? It is the right and just conducts of the parties. As injustice threatens, there comes a time one’s cup fills; in this, no one has withstood the forces of nature’s determinations. A sample of water and flood, earthquakes, fire, etc., let us not provoke God of justice. God is able to gather or scatter; let us look up to seek for good to do to stay together because what happens next shall test all and those who survived shall still look to seek for whom to relate; thus, let us start now to prepare for good future to receive whatever happens.
Have deep is heaven, hell or even the earth to understand? Could we believe of our international relationships, only Russia sympathised our difficulty to seek to install two Nuclear (Electricity) plants to start with? As big as America, Germany; China and of course, Russia, division is not the solution but a change of heart for something good to happen. Let us mark 2018, as a year of good hope for better standard.
Nigeria, whatever its structure is made of Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba as its pillars, who wants to live and let another to die? Did Nigeria make Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa and placed them where they have been before Britain amalgamated them? Those natural placements and settings should not be disturbed. Is Igbo Yoruba; is Yoruba Hausa or is Hausa Igbo? The beauty of nature is in its variety. If we cannot admire it, we are not free to distort or disturb. As these natural placements test, it might tempt greater unity of understanding & common memorandum for improving humanity. They might look enfeeble and naïve on good days but life without temptation, they might become dependable on temptation days, which might be by the corner. As patient as God but some days, he tests.
There is no doubt that the pro-Biafran or Boko Haram cases were wrongly handled because Nigeria has mischievous discretion. In other places, the governments set up impartial committee to hear and investigate the matters. Do the Igbos hate Nigeria and they are still all over Nigeria and what of the Boko Haram? It is Nigeria’s snobbish attitude that is protracting the issue. The law says: hear them.
