Welcome to the institute. Igbo is one of the predominant races in Nigeria with a
domestic population of 55 million people and over 40,000 families in the Institute’s host nation.
Igbo neighbours are Benin (Nigeria) on the West, the Yukun-Tiv (Habes) on the north, Cameroon on the east
and Gabon on the sea of Atlantic on the south.
Igbo is a name, a race, custom, place and system of expression as anglicised to Heebo,
Ibo, Eboe and Hackbous amongst foreigners. Genealogically, Igbo is traced to Lemechi and Ada in the Bible.
Igbo is the original home of the Bantu peoples of Afrika. History has it that the aborigines of India,
Chino (now China), Australia and Japan hailed from Igbo Community. History further has it that 80 per
cent of the people removed from West Afrika during the slave trade (1441-1901) hailed from Igbo.
The institute came by no surprise in the 21st century to further researches, to harmonise and integrate
efforts on Igbo heritage. The Institute is a channel of excavation, exposition and expression. Now in
its sixth millennia from Adam, tracing Igbo roots and branches, the Institute aims to provide the
missing links in the world’s ailing history to rekindle new affection into humanity. The Institute
recognises geological, forensic and scientific methods but will use customary approaches to establish
and challenge the faculties of learning that put the world at a cross road. The Institute will provide
and promote verifiable paths to peaceful and orderly world.
A group of people linked by a common thread that has been stitched together by some peculiar salient attributes - custom, culture, worship and language. The bond created within this fabric is today what we called the Igbos.
We are always taking references form the past so as to navigate the future in a more well informed position
It evolves and then passes down from generation to generation otherwise we are a people still searching for our roots
The norms and rules that maintain the fabric on which our existence depends otherwise there is no foundation
An attribute very much admitted by evryone we are bestowed with - could this be accidental ,coincidental or something else?
The medium through which a culture and custom survives and evolves. It is organic in all respect
Leaders by definition lead and the rest follow not literally but in thier deeds and exemplar sacrifices for the common good of their people.
We organise seminars and lectures to promulgate the Igbo culture
Here you will find some recent pics from our events

How Does Britain View the Developments in Nigeria? How does my godfather feel about my works? Without Britain there wouldn’t have been Nigeria. Unlike France granting single autonomous Independence,
Why have any relations you cannot learn from? In other words, why have friends Who merely want to show you up or bring you down.
Spain is to start suspending Catalonia's autonomy from Saturday, as the region's leader threatens to declare independence.
The government said ministers would meet to activate Article 155 of the constitution, allowing it to take over running of the region.
Catalonia's leader said the region's parliament would vote on independence if Spain continued "repression".
ndent says. Civil servants and government lawyers have thought long and hard about what measures to adopt and when and how they should be implemented.
Whatever situation and circumstances, we are not the first to fight or lose war; thus, whatever and however we see it, we shall not be the first or last to cross the ocean.
Whatever the wisdom, novelty, ostentation or arrogance, there are three main titles in Igboland and a true Igbo man is one who knows the custom and tradition of the land; hence, it is an abomination for an adult to stand watch while the goats hang on the rope. When what motivated the fathers do not motivate the sons raises the leverage to study who is motivated more.
The nation now called Nigeria were separate tribes brought together by circumstances of the slave trade. The world had known these dominant tribes as far back as Hanno’s Voyage in 520BC for the sole purpose of trade. The slave traders (Portuguese and Spaniards) started in 1441 and the British joined in 1556. Then, from 1861 Britain annexed Lagos, for the West Afrikan Frontier Forces operations which stopped the slave trade in 1901
Nigeria cannot continue to deny or deprive people of their legitimate civil rights. These matters were supposed to be sorted out before independence but like absent-minded wagon, terms were compromised unconscionably. Is it not true that hasty climbing makes a quick fall? Nigeria got independence in 1960
IS Nigeria a fantastically corrupt country? The answer has to be an unequivocal yes, however you look at it. This is why I am so happy that President Buhari did not ask Cameron for apology. Instead he asked Mr Cameron to cooperate so that Nigerian assets stashed away in the UK by corrupt Nigerians can be repatriated to Nigeria
